    Staying up till 5a.m with the company and help of my bestie Phae, I've finished the report for my team!!! Finally! Ha! If not for you Phae, I'd have dropped dead of exhaustion. But NOO...my eyes were opened wide like fishballs cuz I was laughing stupidly at the comp. We looked like retarded toots in those pics that we took lor. HAHAH! Will share this fun, laughter, tears and joy with my fellow blog readers very soon. Hee hee.

    Our report...

    Devastation. Destruction. Despair. This was the aftermath of the earthquake of magnitude 6.3 which struck the Indonesian provinces of Yogyakarta and Central Java on 27th May 2006, leaving over 5000 people dead, almost 40 000 wounded and half a million homes destroyed or damaged.

    Desperate cries from the nation's victims resonated rapidly as food and supplies began mobilization and world bodies synchronized their efforts to reach out to the victims as many were left traumatized, homeless and parentless. The most affected were the orphans who are unable to fend for themselves in the poverty-stricken nation and were caught in the midst of chaos.

    On the 20th July 2006, a team of 18-strong youths from National University of Singapore (NUS), driven by their passion to reach out to these children, embarks en route to Indonesia, Yogyakarta, in a bid to bring a glimmer of hope to the nation's poor and affected. With support of Youth Challenge Singapore under the mandate of the United Nations Development Programme, and armed with nothing more than zeal and a heart filled with love, these youths begin their journey of self-discovery as they seek to touch the lives of those around them.

    A plea to all of you, each of us aim to raise at least 500 bucks- Singapore currency ya!-by the end of the week to buy food supplies and useful materials like stationary kits for the children in orphanages and people in refugee camps and slums to give out when we touch down. Cooking for thousands of people everyday, we need all the supplies (money too!) we can in our mission. Please...please donate!!! Even if I don't see you, and you don't see me, drop me a msg or call and sign an "I O U" mental note with me and I will "look for you" . Ok? ;)

     -Yours truly ;
